Yesterday Nova Scotia's NDP government introduced a Bill to amend the Insurance Act to replace the $2,500 Cap with a $7,500 Cap and new definition of minor injury. NS Government introduces new $7,500 “Minor Injury” Cap

Well the wait is over. Yesterday Nova Scotia's NDP government announced its plans for reforming the Province's controversial $2,500 Cap on car accident injury claims. The Government plans to tinker with the Cap legislation and regulations, rather than go in an entirely different direction (i.e., deductible, public auto insurance, etc).
The key features of the Government's proposed changes are as follows:

Nova Scotia now have a second court decision imposing the $2,500 Cap to a person's injury claim.
In Gillis v. MacKeigan, [2010] NSSC 109 a judge imposed the $2,500 on a person's claim by issuing an addendum to his earlier court decision (Gillis v. MacKeigan, [2010] NSSC 22) released on January 25, 2010.
