Its a beautiful night in Fredericton. I’m in town for the Canadian Bar Association’s conference Insurance Law You Need to Know. I’m going to be giving a paper presentation called Tactics and Strategies for Settling a Close to Limits Case.
Every insurance policy has a maximum dollar amount it will pay. With automobile insurance, the maximum amount is generally $200,000 – $1,000,000, depending on the policy. This maximum about is called the “policy limits”. In my paper and presentation I explain strategies and tactics the injured person’s lawyer can use to get the insurance company to pay the policy limits, no matter what they are.
I’ll post a copy of my paper once I get permission from the Canadian Bar Association. If you have any questions about this topic, or any of the other papers I have written, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
